One of my podnuhs secured and old ass refrigerator from the 40s or 50s. Thick, American steel. It had a storage drawer at the bottom.

That became a fire chamber with an added metal plate on top ( heat diffuser)  and an optional water pan to sit on top of the plate. We cut a hole in the top and welded a small stack with a damper. Drilled a few holes in the bottom.
The original stainless racks were used!
Or, you could just take the racks out and hang a medium sized creature in there. Lol.

Or use wooden dowels to hang sausages, etc.

When the bottom burnt out, we made a quarter inch , plate drawer to replace it.
It outlasted the rest of the fridge.  Lol.

Lol. That filing cabinet ain't lasted long , but a great idea that works!

I was watching a show on Story TV last night about concentrated genetics after the super volcano in Sumatra 75,000 years ago wiped out most of civilation.

After viewing the BBQ vid , I know Cajun Genes are alive and well all over the world! Lol

I recall at one I made up a large bucket full of Kn03 and sugar for a you can see it from the space station smoke bomb, then one of the boys popped a half full bottle of propane on it, we lit up the mixture and when well alight someone shot a round through the propane bottle thinking it would explode , it went in one side then out the other and turned it into a flaming ferris wheel that came straight at us, Its was like Moses parting the red sea, people divin for cover
