Geez, people today are spoiled.
The leaf blowers we used to use, were on wheels. You had to fire up a stubborn Briggs engine, like a lawn-mower engine. Since it only got used about one month a year, and always was just pushed into the landscape-equipment barn...fuel not drained, no fresh oil...it was ALWAYS cantankerous to start. Given the (non) maintenance, they probably lasted less than 50 hours...which would be about three seasons.
Then, of course, there was the MOAB. Mother Of All Blowers. A giant blower that fit on a tractor with a three-point hitch. We'd use the David Brown off the golf course, for it.
Now, summers I was assigned to the municipal golf course, but fall, I was put with the landscapers for leaf cleanup and other end-of-season tasks. So I had the keys and know-how to operate the equipment, even though the rest of the golf personnel were on winter holiday.
So, fire up the David Brown (if you ever heard of that tractor brand; English; was purchased by Case and then closed down when Case was purchased by another company)
...and that thing would blow hard enough almost to lift sod. We couldn't use it near garden plots with bark chips - it would blow the bark or peat moss off, and topsoil, too.
Now these 30somethings have shoulder-pack blowers. Lame.

Well...he's creative, but I wonder where he got a tiny jet engine.
And I wonder where he lost his toothbrush. Seems it's been missing a long time...judging by his fangs.
But we used to have actual aircraft jet engines as snow blowers/ice removers on the railroad. Snow, and ice, get into the space where switch transition rails close, and make the switch inoperative - or keep it from properly lining, inviting equipment to "pick the switch" and come off on the ground. So, track crews would use these shop-built jet blasters to thaw and blow ice and snow out from the area of a railroad switch.
