theres a 9mm autoloader handgun that pumps bullets into them at 2500 footpounds. ( if you didnt know, as you exceeed 2100 the bullet rips what it hits. doesnt puncture, but actualy rips it. )

Unless you've really pissed off the bear or he's very hungry, just the noise of the gun, (probably even a .22) will discourage a bear into retreating.

A few years ago, a clip on the internet showed a campsite destroyed by a marauder. The camper had been eaten and all that was left were skeletal remains of a leg with a boot attached. The clip was taken down as too sensational and grisly for viewers despite its effectiveness in making a point about the danger grizzlies can pose to campers.

I hate the people in charge of what can be shown on the internet. They suck bad, and they are terrible liars.

Bears are a wonderful part of the back country experience and generally not a problem, but they are what they are.

I don't know. Are they both tidy with good manners? Bears are not. They are rude and destructive, which is maybe why communists have bears as symbolic mascots. Oh, and they stink. Commies like that!
