I think the larger boat was swallowed up. I never saw it after the camera panned away. It couldn't turn into the wave fast enough and I think it capsized. The smoke went dark and it was being hit broadside by the wave as the camera left.

the japs for generations used to pay homage for centuries to the tsunami god for destroying Kublai Khans invasion fleet on the coast of japan. even though the mongols used korean girls as talisman on the prowes of their ships.

You mean they carved effigies, usually female figures, maybe for good luck, I think. I believe most seafarers across the globe did that.

Ive watched many hours of the 2011 tsunami. I can't imagine a worse one, although I know there were.

They are amazing.
I used to think of a tsumani as being a 'few big waves'.
But it is more like the level of the ocean rises many meters within minutes.

I used to think water is a soft warm lovely thing, such as warm water in a shower or to drink or wash teeth in.
A few smashes by a wave in the ocean are totally different.
