Re: Christmas 2022
Those little trees are car deoderizers smell good things here in the states. You hang them on your rear view mirror. Lol.
Those green ones stink, imo. Lol
But my nephew has some yellow trees like that hanging in his truck and they smell awesome vanilla.
I'm going to get some to hang around my asshole neighbor's deer stand. Lol.
I think that, with Irish Spring Soap shavings on the ground will keep the deer away.

What has your neighbor done to piss you off ?
The last time mine pissed me off I went over and smacked one of his guests unconscious with his deck chair, satisfaction guaranteed
I must confess that I was a little concerned I might have killed the guy lol

Not that I know of anyway. We are to trust in the Lord, pray without ceasing and remember that we have eternity to look forward to. My "happiness" is solely based on Jesus Christ and what eternity will be like when I don't live in a fallen world, that makes me happy and blessed every day!

Re: Christmas 2022
Growing up I never had a happy Christmas. It was a cold knot in the pit of my stomach. As an adult my enjoyment of the holiday is encapsulated in mindless Christmas movies. That's where all my enjoyment lies.
My son and daughter-in-law had taken a lot of satisfaction in going to her children's for Christmas leaving me at home alone. Which fit into my plans perfectly. This year, behind my daughter-in-law's back her kids made their own plans and cut mom and step dad out! Stymied at the last minute, they bought a package dinner from the grocery. They are stuck with me after all.

Merry Christmas to you. Christmas can be a tough time, expectations run high, reality then strikes with a vengeance. I have found that gratitude for the things I have, and counting my blessings, clears the air. No matter your circumstances, there are those who look up to you with awe. These are the ones with whom you share Christmas. On more than one occasion, I went to church, then headed to help out in the local soup kitchen. Some times it was just downstairs.

Yeah, right. 'Night before last Mr. 2 mentioned a yen for glazed cinnamon rolls. Entirely unlike him, but no way was I going to pass up an opportunity to serve him food he might actually want!HawkTheSlayer wrote:Number 8 - Make and eat Christmas cookies.
So yesterday, I slipped out all the ingredients, while he slept in. Then mixed 'em as he showered; hoping he'd not hear the kitchen going's on, what w/o his hearing aids.
This was all around 9:00, and I did get the batch into the utility room atop the freezer to rise (raise?), before he came out. Whew! Gonna be a great surprise.
Take the batch out, spread into 9x15, butter, shake on cinnamon sugar, roll up, slice, raise again, then bake.
Finally all done at 1:00, including cleaning up the disaster in the kitchen. and Mr. 2 is yet to try one.
Now I remember why I'm not so keen on baking.

Well to be honest, cinnamon rolls would be wasted on me too. I usually have oatmeal with fruit on it and am up and out of bed long before 9:00 :-)

One has Gotta be careful how one treats their own parents in front of their children because their children take clues from their parents on how to treat them later on. Don't you think?EvilCat Breath wrote:Growing up I never had a happy Christmas. It was a cold knot in the pit of my stomach. I'd always been respectful of my mother and the Captain's mother...even when she wasn't treating me right behind the scenes. I'm lucky. I've got kids that call me all the time and are there when i need them...and then sometimes when i wish they'd leave me alone for a little bit. LOLOL
