Except for number one, all those women impressed me.
Especially number 4 and the last one one.
She surprised me with her honest humor.
But that was 55 years ago when most of the world was normal and Marxism of any nature(including cultural marxism) would be condemned.
As only 20 years before, we fought a world war .
And Aussies were very instrumental in that war.

After thinking about it, I wouldn't be too harsh on lady #1.
She's got a basic point for survival at that point in history.
I don't think it was meant to be a money grabbing post.
Just a desire for a man who can provide.
But when I look in her eyes.........

Well to go against the grain yet again I see #1 as shallow and self-serving and that's not a good foundation for a relationship.
Whilst most of us wouldn't make eyes at the pauper begging on a street corner I can honestly say that I have never looked at a man and thought "does he have the potential to provide for me?"

You're not going against any grain here.
We all agree with you.

I don't think we as women think that outloud but i do think subconsciously we do that instinctively.
I can tell you one thing...love don't last long with a husband who sits on his butt in front of a tv all day long while you go to work.

I don't.
I don't think "what can a man do for me" subconsciously or instinctively. I see thinking like that in the same vein as "size matters."
Personally, I see it more as a matter of values. People with similar values generally attract but not because one is a potential bread winner but more because they are both willing to work towards their shared values together. The 60s was a different era though and I'm glad it's over.
Different cultures I guess.
