OMG!
That lady said she was going to cook shrimp mirliton( millitawns)(chayote squash).
Thats good!
We grow lots of those here. Sprawling vine that takes over everything and flowers and fruits very late here, at this time of year. Its always a tight race with the first freeze. But south of New Orleans in St. Bernard Parish(Katrina fame) , i imagine they do very well.
My grandma used to cook that all the time with reconstituted packs of dried shrimp and a few fresh frozen shrimp, if they could find them.
I love dried shrimp.
Right out of the pack.
