Spielberg says streaming killed Hollywood movies
no. Woke killed it. Y'all committed sepuku.

Steven Spielberg said in a new interview with The New York Times that streaming services like HBO Max have thrown filmmakers “under the bus” by “unceremoniously” dumping high profile new releases on streaming and not in theaters. The Oscar winner is referring to Warner Bros.’ decision to release all of its 2021 film slate both on HBO Max and in theaters on the same day. For Spielberg, such a decision changed moviegoing habits for adults.
~~~~~~
For the left, it's always someone elses' fault.
Agreed, CJ: Woke, and lack of talent.
Spielberg also blamed the empty theaters on the pandemic, (again), and added as how adults were relieved that they didn't have to step on sticky popcorn. While that may be true, I hardly think that adults view, "the magic of being in a social situation with a bunch of strangers as a tonic."
Do you?
From the OP article:
Has anyone here seen, The Post, or heard, or read anything about it? I'm curios if it's half the movie Spielberg is sure it is. I'd be interested to know what kind of angle he put on it.
Very awkward paragraph, but beside the point.“I made ‘The Post’ as a political statement about our times by reflecting the Nixon administration, and we thought that was an important reflection for a lot of people to understand what was happening to our country,” Spielberg said. “I don’t know if I had been given that script post-pandemic whether I would have preferred to have made that film for Apple or Netflix and gone out to millions of people. Because the film had something to say to millions of people, and we were never going to get those millions of people into enough theaters to make that kind of difference. Things have changed enough to get me to say that to you.”
no i don't....and it has nothing to do with the popcorn on the floor. It has to do more with the 30 minutes of commercials i have to endure before the movie starts and they make the room so cold i take a jacket and a blanket. PLUS, the hassel, the cost of popcorn and lack of good movies.
I'm at a loss. I don't recall The Washington Post printing classified documents, then continuing to do so when told to put a stop to it. Granted, I wasn't paying the closest attention of what was going on at the time.Calypso Jones wrote:2cent wrote: “I made ‘The Post’ as a political statement about our times by reflecting the Nixon administration, and we thought that was an important reflection for a lot of people to understand what was happening to our country,” Spielberg said. “I don’t know if I had been given that script post-pandemic whether I would have preferred to have made that film for Apple or Netflix and gone out to millions of people. Refresh my memory? I don't know who Katherine Graham or Bradley are.
P.S. "Freedom of the Press" doesn't include a "Get Out of Jail Free" card, when it comes to espionage and/or treason.
