That's the nature of politics, we tend to have a cycle in NZ, a couple of terms is the best that a party can hope for , There has been talk of increasing the term to 4 years from 3, But there is no appetite among the voting public , The incumbent always say they can do better with a longer term , But what they really need to do is get bipartisan policy in place that will survive their time in office

We have a different system to Aus, We will never have a 4 year term here, It would need to go to a referendum , just wont happen

I might draw people's attention that even if Democrats do lose both the house and senate, it is AFTER the fossil fuel prices have skyrocketed, AFTER the store shelves are empty, AFTER China has wrecked havoc, AFTER N. Korea has furthered their Nuclear program, AFTER we have left Afghanistan with our tail between our legs, AFTER our military has been forced to be "woke", AFTER our government has been weaponized against the citizens and AFTER Communists and perverts have been installed into our government by the illustrious Demented-In-Chief!
