Hey....THIS is evidence of just how screwed up the education system is. FEMALE teacher kept in the office under supervision all day long and then police took over. Nut-so.
do ya supposed Marla is using the prison computer room?

Wow. and that's not even a public school. I wonder if there's any non-laity - in the administration, or staff - involved, as that is the stupidest response anyone could have possibly run with.
But heck, the police dept. is no better:
I know Gary, IN is one messed up dump of a place, but what was with THAT??!!
It'd be nice if the article included whether or not the cops located the list or not.
I'm sick of schools providing counselors every time you turn around. Next thing you know, they'll be providing counselors for the students when anyone is absent for a day.
But heck, the police dept. is no better:
Bad enough that the school allowed the whacked-out teacher to just leave, then finally lets the cops know about it FOUR HOURS AFTER THE FACT; but worse, the P.D. lets it wait until the next morning, to go pick her up!The statement went on to say that the police department was "not made aware of the situation until 4 hours later after the teacher was allowed to leave," but that Carrasquillo-Torres was taken into custody the following morning "without incident."

It would also be nice to know if the police merely gave her a hug and let her go or if they charged her with intent and put her on a watch list.

It's a wonderment, no? Generally, in the U.S., what that so-called teach did is considered as terroristic threatening. No watch list. Jail time.Red Lily wrote:It would also be nice to know if the police merely gave her a hug and let her go or if they charged her with intent and put her on a watch list.
Interrogated until their mental and physical guts fall out.
The article, by least, (or most?) is terribly incomplete, I'd say.
