Hawaii, Kalalau trail..people go missing all the time

In particular, 2008, experienced hiker doesn't turn up again when he told his family he would.   Months later his campsite was found and the hiker who found it reported it because he felt something was not right.    The hiker is still missing.  the police don't bother with search parties becasue they say...'People go missing there all the time'.   Good excuse. heh?    No response from the police department for this article.   naturally.

At 23, Jesse Glen Pinegar was already an experienced hiker and camper.


Captivated by Hawaii's scenic beauty and numerous trails, he decided to visit the island of Kauai on his own, after plans fell through with his friends. On Jan. 18, 2008, he flew from Utah to Kauai and rented an apartment on the island.

He told his family he’d return after a couple of months, but when he didn’t show up as expected in March, his dad immediately went looking for him.

There are parts of Hawaii where whitey does not go. I don't know if this is one of them but there are lots of them. I was engaged to a girl in Hawaii in the 80's when I lived there. I know about that stuff.

He probably wandered into a big drug operation.
