Unfortunately, a country doesnt have to be an empire to decline....just a country...
The decay of society/humanity is all around us...in every country....
And as I said in another thread....
This can all be sheeted home to politicians...
Corrupt and incompetent politicians....

It's true that greedy, evil, vile, controlling politicians are the foundation of the decline but, the voting public bears some of the blame. Society has supported, promoted, encouraged and voted for the decline.

My point was that the public have allowed greedy politicians to prosper, "win elections", etc. by voting for them or failing to vote at all. It is EVERYONE'S duty to vote in EVERY election. Failing to do so allows people to "win" by default, subterfuge, fraud, etc.

It's often been said that a democracy depends on moral, honest people with integrity. Certain elements of our society couldn't care less about morality, honesty nor integrity, just like the Roman empire, we are seeing the results.
