You were dudded Tigers

With only one second on the clock..Tigers were leading 26-25 after scoring a try.
Cowboys kick off and the ball is caught by a Tigers player.
Ref blows the whistle for full time.
Cowboys captain lodges verbal challenge with referee (which NRL rules permit), stating that one of the Cowboys
players was interfered with as the ball was in the air.
Ref refers it to the "bunker"...an off-field third referee with access to replays etc...
Bunker states interference has been caused and directs ref to award penalty.
Cowboys kick the goal...
Cowboys win 27-26.
Problem...
Rules state that when the ref allows play to continue, there can be no challenge..
There was..
The challenge should not have been accepted by the ref, let alone
referred to the bunker for adjudication....
Millions of punting dollars changes hands because of this decision....
Incompetence...sheer incompetence....
BTW...I didnt bet on the match...so its not sour grapes...
Tigers are considering legal action...

It sounds iffy though.  I had my fill of stupid referees when my kids played soccer.  One cost the team the national title because he didn't allow a goal kicked by our goalie, which was absolutely legal.  He apologized later but that was not enough.  The boys were shattered.  Idiot.

Aah yes...the days of junior soccer....
I remember coaching a bunch of Under 10s one day and wanted
to see how each boy played in the field....so I decided to play this
trial game which had absolutely no significance without a goalie...
The club president happened to be watching and refused to let the
game start, insisting we had to have a goalie....
I gave him an absolute gobful...
But the ref just stood there waiting for one of my kids to
pull on a goalies shirt....
Aaah yes....the junior sport hurdy gurdy....
