they make a double sided aluminum tape. its adhesive properties are 100 times better than duct tape.

Duct tape is good stuff.
Can't remember it failing on me.
Saw some tape at a bearing shop.
'Stretchy ' silicone tape. Works by a chemical reaction, not sticky.

I used both superglue and duct tape to fix a pair of old tennis shoes today. I glued them and then wrapped them in duct tape to hold everything in place until the glue dried.
