I like to par boil my chips then oven roast them in the oven with a bit of extra virgin olive oil

Chips are about the only thing I prefer fried but as I cook them so infrequently I don't need a deep fryer. Mine go in the oven or the air fryer and, yeah, not as good.

Maccas DO make really good chips though and those look good too.

I use agria potatoes and mine are as good as any chip you will get, I like them thick , I boil them hard and fast until the surface softens drain the water leave them covered for a few minutes , Then with the lid on shake them up a little until the surface roughs up a bit , sprinkle them with my favourite seasoning and some olive oil, roll them over in the pot a couple of times with the lid on to coat them then pop them into a preheated oven 200c on fan bake to crisp them up

I use the same method for roast vege ,,
