Adult Beverage Treats

Bourbon Slush. a nice slushy drink for ladies suitable for bridal or baby showers, or just sipping it on the porch with friends. A mild bourbon flavored beverage to sip on summer evenings. makes 1.5 quarts.



Bourbon Slush

2 tea bags
1 cup boiling water
1 cup sugar
3.5 cups water
1 6oz or 2/3 cup frozen OJ from concentrate thawed
1/2 cup bourbon
1/2 of 6oz or 1/3 cup frozen lemonade from concentrate, thawed

Steep tea bags in boiling water 2 to 3 minutes , remove tea bags and place in pitcher because it will be easier to stir to dissolve the sugar.

Then add 3 1/2 cups water still stirring to dissolve sugar. Add remaining ingredients.

Pour into some kind of freezer container and freeze till firm.

It won't be totally firm. It will be firm but you can still break it up with a large spoon. this will take some time. 10 minutes before serving, take it out of freezer. ten minutes is still not enough time for it to thaw but that is okay. It's good to eat it with a spoon too as it melts.

Spoon into cocktail glasses, garnish with a slice or wedge of lemon if desired or even a sprig of home grown mint. Keep unused portion in freezer.

2cent and Red Lilly would like this. EvilCat Breath will add more bourbon...i don't know....i just have a feeling.

here's one made with pineapple and it makes a considerably larger amount.  More suitable to your bible study group. I wouldn't put it in individual dishes. I'd freeze it in a big square container, freeze and then spoon it into dishes...and what the hell is a serving anyway when you're consuming alcohol. You drink it till it's all gone.

1 (12 ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate
1 (46 fluid ounce) can pineapple juice
1 ½ cups white sugar
2 cups strong brewed black tea
2 cups bourbon whiskey
1 (2 liter) bottle lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage

Step 1
In a large bowl or container, mix together the orange juice concentrate, lemonade concentrate, pineapple juice, sugar, tea, and whiskey. Transfer to shallow bowls or dishes, and freeze overnight.

Step 2
Remove the frozen mixture from the freezer and let stand for about 10 minutes. Chop with a wire whisk or potato masher to make a slushy consistency. Place scoops of the frozen slush into glasses, and top off with the lemon-lime flavored soda.

I drink a lot of green tea, no milk or sugar
