Yes, you are correct that the increased costs just get passed along to the consumer, what's new? The Democrats couldn't care less. They deal in emotion rather than actual truth and facts.

Idiot Dems always think that higher taxes will add money to the coffers, when who hasn't known since time immortal that the exact opposite is true.
And aside from that, even IF there was more money in the coffers, it has ZERO to do with helping the economy.
