You won't need to make another beer run this year. On the other hand, you may have to do some running yourself, to deal with the bodybuilding effects...
99 cans of beer on the wall.....Lol
Me, and you, and @Daily Bread can finish that in one sitting.
Especially if we're roasting a pig!

Re: Happy Birthday HawkTheSlayer!
Ooooh. No beer for me, thanks.
I might have a special microbrew or something, but otherwise it's going to be bourbon and rocks for me.
It's funny. When I was a kid, and even up to early thirties, I didn't understand the appeal of imported, high-priced beer. Even in the Navy...in Australia and Singapore, I had beer different from that in America, and some I liked, some not...but I was comfortable on the bottom shelf.
Then I moved to Denver. At the time, Colorado tax laws (and Sunday sale laws) had changed to favor microbrews. The Wynkoop Brewery, sold draft beer in milk bottles - on a Sunday, if you wanted. Sunday morning. Paper stopper - they advised you put it in a sealed container to keep it from going flat, if you weren't going to drink it right away.
That was where John Hickenlooper, former governor, now senator, made his money. Fast, actually - he only opened the joint in 1988. I should have had such business acumen.
But, anyway...that, and a couple other brewpubs...excellent beer. Then, coming to Cleveland and Buffalo...working out of Buffalo...I could drive across the Peace Bridge into Canada and get the good beer that our keepers in government denied us. I could even make the trip JUST for the Duty Free store - that was legal, so long as I didn't exceed my limit coming back. Getting off work at, say, 0300...I'd stop at the Duty Free and have a beer breakfast, before sleeping for 18 hours or so.
Then I found myself diabetic. Nope...no more beer.
I miss the taste and the society around beer-glass circles on bar tables, but I don't miss the bloated feeling and the bowel upheaval, after having five or so too many.

@HawkTheSlayer, how could I have possibly MISSED your BIRTHDAY!!??
The 26th? Now I know what happened. I was in OK. Nevertheless, as belated as it is...

Where is Hawk. I've not seen him on here for a day or so. Is everything okay @Red Lily?

I missed it too i'm ashamed to say......but i was shopping.
I did send him a gift though...just for no reason...i guess i could claim birthday as a reason and not tell him. I guess if he reads this he'll know though...maybe he won't. I hope it didn't make him sick.

Shopping... a very plausible explanation.Calypso Jones wrote:2cent wrote: @HawkTheSlayer, how could I have possibly MISSED your BIRTHDAY!!??
