Apparently this clown took part in the Waco massacre. Could they find a more inflammatory person to fill the post? Aside from Janet Reno himself ...I think not

It doesn't even add the letter.  If it weren't for  @El G, I wouldn't even know that much about him.

I know GOA is legit.  I'd join them far before the NRA in a heartbeat.  Still doesn't explain who David Chipman is, not even the position he's wanting to be hired to do.  Nor does it portray in the slightest what's in the letter they're wanting people to 'sign.'

Why would anyone in his right mind sign on to anything that doesn't say what he's signing?  

Who is David Chipman?
What post is he being nominated to fill?
What is his record/history?

Please, give us something to go on.

Here.  An article on David Chipman.  As far as this tells, Chipman really is a bad actor.  I may contact my senators, but I don't sign online petitions, as they're meaningless.

It’s hard to think of a worse possible nominee than David Chipman to run the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

He can't define what he thinks is an assault weapon. he either can't or he doesn't want to tell us what he thinks it is.

GOA's online petitions and advocacy emails almost always get a personal response from federal and state legislators to whom you direct it. Just because it's a prewritten form letter by GOA does not mean it will be ignored by those to whom it is sent. You can edit it to read the way you want it to read.. GOA has a lot of clout, and I often participate in their email campaigns. They are a good outfit, lean-and-mean for 2A in Washington.
