Re: Utopia...where citizens police themselves
The guy comes back after a long vacation. His brother picks him up at the airport. As he is putting his pack in the boot he drops his bandana. he gets in the car. his brother is busy blowing into a tube connected to the ignition. He blows and blows until the car allows him to drive away. Meanwhile some old woman is taking a photo of the bandana on the ground and the license plate. They get a few hundred feet away and the car stops.....the driver must pay a fine for the bandana. The passenger offers his card or cash. Cash is unacceptable and his card will not suffice because only the driver's card is acceptable and he can't find his. They must exit the car and walk home. That starts it out.
You see. No police.....any other citizen can report you if that citizen feels you are 'not a good citizen'. Then you're fined. you must use a card to pay up immediately or you are denied the use of your car. There are set fines. Whoever turns you in,, gets a percentage of the fine. See the problem there?
They sound like aussies. not surprising heh?
The brother tells his newly arrived brother that this is all for their own good. No alcohol, no drugs, no fattening foods, no unhealthy foods, no swearing, no smoking. And there are cameras in every room of the home....except for the bathroom. That is where the brother keeps his alcohol, smokes, snacks, drugs etc.

Lol. I don't think most Aussies would identify. Maybe the ones in Queensland.

Re: Utopia...where citizens police themselves
We, in the States, have plenty of experience in "self-policing."
Deadwood was one location. It wasn't even part of organized US territory when gold was discovered. Miners' committees became government-by-mob, with the drifters and con men coming in to seize or scare off or kill other miners with filed claims. People there not connected with the ruling mob, were BEGGING Washington to claim the territory and send a Marshall to enforce law.
Another was Tarryall, now in Colorado; where the same organized-crime-ring of claim-jumpers came in, and the town became known as Graball.
It simply doesn't work. It might work if we were all Jordan Peterson or Stefan Molyneaux, but we are not. Most of us don't need cops to force us to behave; but of the 30 percent who do...they really do need it.

That's right Casey. In the video, it doesn't work. His sister on law, used her card to pay his fines so that he could escape the country...and she ended up in prison. Free from her restrictive society.

Re: Utopia...where citizens police themselves
Sorry...had a big download in the background.
I like to download Ewe Toob vids and convert them to MP3 files to listen to, mornings.
But this is the current trend with the sham-intellectual class. Supported by the Marxists, because they know where it really leads. Defund the police and launch "Voluntaryism" as they call it, and inside a month you have violent chaos and decent people begging for government, any government. That's the Marxists' chance.
But the dreamers just refuse to think it through. Like they refuse to think so much else through. Heavy pot use must help them be voluntarily stupid, I guess...

Just got the vid going.
More like the DemocRat Police-State Hell, with digital monitoring everywhere. And, of course, no protection of Due Process.

Re: Utopia...where citizens police themselves
I've been in surveillance situations before - businesses where the cash station was monitored, for one. When CSX took over Conrail, those simple sonsabitches put cameras in all the clocks in all the crew rooms. Cameras weren't so small in 1999, and it was as obvious as an axe wound. The union couldn't ignore it, and after six months of taping everything we did and said, they finally either took them out or got more-hidden cameras.
Locomotive cabs, are now equipped with cameras both on the track ahead, and on the crew. Sound recorded, also. Think of that...MOST jobs are twelve hours; and EVERY BIT of that gets recorded and sent up in real-time through the Internet of Everything. Pick your nose, or criticize the company president...it's all there. For 10-12 hours every day.
The guy who trained me as a locomotive engineer, a man with, then, 30 years on the job and a perfect record, got 30 days' suspension for speeding. Because the cab speedometer was five miles an hour slow; but the satellite tracking was exact. So he ran hot for four hours' time.
Company argued he should have used a measured mile to figure out this speedo was off. Yeah, like he didn't have enough to do, running a two-mile long freight train, to mess with speed charts and stopwatches.
So...the reality is, we're there.
