The strange death of Aunt June

My daughter-in-law's aunt passed. Even though she was quite energetic and in good health, generally, she was 96 years old.

Here it is, Monday and family started wondering why Aunt June hadn't called anyone to wish them a Happy Thanksgiving. Was she mad? Upset that she wasn't invited anywhere. It's not that she wasn't wanted. Everyone was too busy to get her and take her home. She understood. Being unable to reach her, her son had the police make a welfare check. He really didn't have time to drive 30 miles. Aunt June had passed away Thanksgiving Day. Peacefully. It looked she laid down to take a nap. 4 days later, someone thought to wonder what happened to Aunt June.

I didn't know the woman. She was reported to be a kindly soul who was always ready to help someone in need. She deserved better.

Poor Aunt Jane she certainly did deserve better.

The good part is that Aunt June passed away peacefully in her sleep.   I think that shows how gentle God can be. Aunt June did deserve better but AUnt June doesn't care about that. THere might be some regret and guilt among the living though.

now everyone can fight for her money. what a bunch of sad sacks of shit.

Oh I don't know. I hope the same for me. Me mum did the thing, but at 76. The paper delivery guy noticed she hadn't picked them up for 2 days, and notified the management. Had a stroke in her sleep.

We had a neighbor up the road. I didn't know her very well but she was a good woman, knew a lot about gardening, cooking, etc and was willing to help anyone. She went out to breakfast with her husband and daughter...came home and said i feel tired, i'm going to go lay down and she passed quietly in her sleep. I considered it God's blessing on her. No sickness, illness, no fear, just quick and gentle.

What disturbs me is that no one in the family would go get a 96 year old woman and take her home. Equally disturbing is that no one called Aunt June on Thanksgiving to see if she even had a dinner at all. It degenerates into disgraceful that it was four days before anyone wondered why Aunt June hadn't called THEM.
