Yes, I know what Easter is......I grew up in a religious (mother) Catholic family.

It surprises me that people can still amaze me with their stupidity.

Too some degree you ca understand a little confusion regarding Easter, as its a fusion between Christianity and pagan beliefs , During Roman times they were rather pragmatic and thought we can fuse our beliefs with the locals and everyone will be happy , and Easter as we know it cane about

My in-laws celebrate Easter in a larger way than they do Christmas.  Yes, the resurrection of Jesus means more to them, than His birth.

It only makes sense if you have a religious bent , If not its just an interesting fairytale ,,

A church has installed a painting of what was close to what Jesus looked like after torture and flogging by the Romans.   THis painting that the church has decided to display is on the right track but the scriptures describe Jesus as barely recognizable as a man by the time he arrived at Golgotha.

I understand the distress this painting causes people...The article says it frightened children.    

Even though the painter is not experienced he painted near the truth of the condition of our Lord and what was done to him.

Easter is defined as the time when Judas started his inquiries regarding his reward money from the temple jews until Jesus accends into Heaven. so many happenstances occured its realy quite hard to grasp the complexities of the timeline. LOTS of MAJOR players during each and every facet of this world altering occurence.
