Napoleon Statue to be Replaced by Statue of Feminist

The left-wing mayor of Rouen plans to remove a statue of Napoleon Bonaparte from outside the town hall and replace it with the likeness of a modern feminist.

Conservatives in the Normandy capital and around the country are angry over the proposal by Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, 44, a Socialist who was elected last year, to get rid of the four-tonne bronze effigy of the emperor on horseback by the sculptor Vital Gabriel Dubray.

It's hard to find a decent link that isn't pay-walled and/or covering the screen with cookie acceptance.  Regardless, why the need to continually try to erase history?   Why not just add a statue of some stupid feminist, if you must?

why are people around the world electing socialists to anything? What idiocy is that.

I have been to the countryside in France. A most beautiful country.

And the countryside has more, or they did, esteem for the Americans who fought for their liberation. The big cities not so much.

It is in the socialist agenda to erase history so that they can re-write history the way they wish it were...
