Spellchecker/Auto Correct/Auto Insert
Has the world become so illiterate that this crap is a mandatory feature of most tablets, etc?
I've looked at countless tutorials but I can't seem to cut the damned thing completely off. I spend more time editing sh!t that spell check inserts what it thinks I want to say, than typing the actual response. There is hardly a post I don't have to edit for spelling. I spell it, in gets inserted. I spell our, out gets inserted. I spell dreamed, dreamers gets inserted. I just typed likes, i got lik as. Not to mention the punctuation marks it likes to delete.

Ack! What a drag, Hawk. My email does that - haven't been able to fix it via settings. Annoying as all heck!
Never had spellcheck doing that to me on any bb, though.

It's built into the keyboard system. So it doesn't matter if it's internet, mail, ECT.
I hope i never meet the one who invented it.

Oh, UGH! I do pity you. That crap is about the most condescending, annoying "feature" on earth.HawkTheSlayer wrote:2cent wrote:Ack! What a drag, Hawk. My email does that - haven't been able to fix it via settings. Annoying as all heck!

Thank God I could turn that off on my laptop. All it does now is underline something in red if they think I got it wrong. I ignore it.
Texting on my phone is another story and I just cannot turn that shyt off. I also spend more time correcting what they decide to insert instead of what I actually typed. Voice texting is even worse and I've sent some crazy assed messages that way. I swear Samsung has it in for me.
I voice texted some unintelligible babble to my son the other day. I was in a hurry. He came back with "Are you on drugs?" lol

Don't feel bad. I don't even have that spellcheck stuff, and my kids ask me the same thing.Red Lily wrote:Thank God I could turn that off on my laptop. All it does now is underline something in red if they think I got it wrong. I ignore it.

Re: Spellchecker/Auto Correct/Auto Insert
Texting is a pain for me because of my nails so I have to peck at the phone with a stylus. So if I have pecked something out and stupid autocorrect changes it I get kinda frustrated and mad lol.
Computer is fine as I don't look at the keys when I type.
