Massive Herd of Elk in Montana
This video shows a huge heard crossing the road near Yellowstone. It’s located at Bozeman, MT. We have never seen such a big herd before. Poor little guy at the end. Luckily he finally caught up.

Re: Massive Herd of Elk in Montana
I drove into such a herd, in 2014.
Last trip to Eau Claire, after moving to Missoula. I was pressed for time, off work at 1300, and getting rolling. By the time I got packed, rolling, and whatnot...I was crossing central Montana long after midnight.
State Route 200. I was rolling along in a moonless night, about midnight (planned to drive all night) and drove into the middle of a deer/elk stampede. No time to really react - nothing to do but close my eyes to keep the glass shards out of them.
I hit. By a miracle, not on the hood. Caught one with the driver's-side mirror; and the doomed critter kept moving forward. Broke my mirror and then slammed into the side of my truck, just behind the cab. Looked like the Jolly Green Giant gave it a kick.
Medical/police personnel were far out of reach. Half an hour later, I came across a wreck scene where a car/truck/trailer went off a bridge with no railing. About a dozen people gathered around, with cars and lights. No cops. No cellular signal.
About...no lie...twenty minutes later I saw an ambulance running full-chat, from the east to where I'd been. No, where the West was won, there is no guarantee of immediate rescue.
