He was a reasonably-good character supporting actor. Mary's buffoon boss, Lou Grant, at the tevee station.

When he tried to make it in the same role in a serious setting, as the hero...it didn't work so well. Lou Grant was as big an arsehole as was Ed Asner.

And when it was cancelled - for poor ratings - he blamed Reagan and Reagan's voters. Couldn't just admit he was an unfunny clown and and was playing an obnoxious prick who was full of himself. It was an accurate role because that WAS...HIM.

Even then, by that time writing for a newspaper, part time...I wasn't so sure of the heroics of the scribes of the Yellow Press. Which was most newspapers; just not to the degree they are, now.

I was just looking through a list of who took the vax and when.

Philip and Elizabeth took it january 2021  and he dies in April 9.  hmmm.

Have they began giving booster shots? It's been almost 7 months since Ed's first shot.

How long were they originally saying wait between vaxx....i can't remember...it was significant.   12 weeks? maybe 21 days? I don't remember...you got the spike protein..blood clots...teensy ones. Maybe it takes a little time. They'd never admit it.

It was 3 weeks between 1st and 2nd doses.  They are selling the booster as to be taken 8 months after your first shot.  My parents got the Pfizer jabs in March.  So far they seem fine.  They are in their late 70s. Mom has had clotting problems in the past following surgeries.

that's right...3 weeks. the 8 month booster thing confused me. Just lately fauci said 5 to 6 months. He must be afraid the economy will tank in 8 months so they move it back.
