Joe acts like gun stores are the only place that illegal gun purchases are made.  I would guess that most illegal gun purchases in stores are done without the participation of the gun store.  People are falsifying documents, doing strawman purchases, or the government doesn't complete the background check within 72 hours and the store issues the gun according to law.  My cousin works part time for the BATF.  His job is to confiscate guns that were bought and issued before the background check eventually came back failed.  I would think most illegal guns are stolen or bought private party after they were stolen. Who would sell to a criminal if the serial number can be traced to them being the prior owner?

I forget the app, but there is an app where you can enter the serial number of the gun you are looking to buy and the app searches databases to see if the gun is reported stolen.

criminals don't use gun stores....but normal american citizens do...we are the targetted audience here.
