New to me dog.

It had to happen. 'bout 6 weeks ago I finished my swim at Luquillo beach. All of a sudden this little mostly black fluff ball showed up following a jogger. As I wasn't jogging she followed me. Long story short, her name is Luquilla de Playa "Luqui" for short. Infested with fleas, ticks and smelling like dead lizard (her favorite treat). Took her to the vet gave her a flea pill de wormed her and gave her her first rabies shot. She weighs 13# gained 4 in 6 weeks. I got a flea and tick comb, and get an lot of dander from near her neck. Is this normal? Do I need "essential oyles"? Anyone know of flea/tick pills available on line without a prescription? She is approx 5-6 mos. Going to get her spayed in a week or so.

BE very careful using EOs on pets.

A good bath using Dawn alone will kill most ticks and fleas. Some dogs love baths. Some don't like them at all. Lol.

Frontline has a good flea/ tick med (you put it on the nape of the neck once a month). You can get it online. Look at Chewy.com for any pet need you would ever want. I get all my pet stuff from Chewy.
And yes. That flea dirt collects at the neck ......a place they don't reach very well. Disgusting, but you can deal with it.
Dawn... a good bath.

Won't Dawn being a dish soap with grease and oil break down excessively dry her skin? Anti bacterial version or standard?

It will also lower the skin tension of the water and drown the fleas
