until the french hit back with converge of their own. know what a Tar Heel was? fire brick? hollystone? swabbing the deck? EVERYTHING was coated with tar. the ropes, the gunwales, the rigging, the decks. because the hats were coated in tar, and when it got hot theyd drip onto everything. they take firebricks from the oven and " hollystone " the decks till they were white. thats swabbing the deck. you can tell a real scuba diver from all the fakes. for the most common thing at the bottom of a bay is a well worn firebrick or " hollystone " . when scuba divers go " huh ? " you know theyre fake. anyway, your own ship, and the enemy ship should be covered in tar. and here you are, playing with fire........takes a real genius to set his own ship on fire.

Kinda of reminds me of a real life version of this movie clip from Live Free Or Die Hard.
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
