Cubans are starving
https://www.yahoo.com/news/cubans-depend-sugar-water-food-014647716.html
They get subsidized bread... smaller than a person's hand. Once a day. No oil, no coffee. Many are surviving barely on sugar water and many go to bed without eating. This isn't good. They have nothing..and they are NOT happy. And certainly no fifteen minute cities. They appear to be getting ready for 15 minute burial processing. Strike the burial part. I'm reminded of Soylent green.

Just think, this workers paradise is slowly moving north. Close to 1/3 of the US this is a viable form of government.Calypso Jones wrote:https://www.yahoo.com/news/cubans-depend-sugar-water-food-014647716.html

Not too many people remember that movie starring Charlton Heston. Shocking, but maybe true some day.Calypso Jones wrote:https://www.yahoo.com/news/cubans-depend-sugar-water-food-014647716.html

And of course, a lot of those Cubans flee their communist "paradise", migrate to the U.S., get into our governments and enact the same policies for their new home that they originally fled from.
I say keep Cubans in Cuba and let natural selection sort them out.

It only sorta surprises me that Biden did little to change things. But the, "Blame the USA First," common theme surely doesn't.Calypso Jones wrote:https://www.yahoo.com/news/cubans-depend-sugar-water-food-014647716.html

"Americans don't allow anything to come in here... and we are the ones who pay the consequences," said retired shoemaker Emilio Cedeno, 88, repeating the oft-repeated government line while clutching his daily fistful of bread.
But this is what really gets me:
Please, pray tell, exactly what is there to do or see in Cuba that one cannot see or do anywhere else?Cuba's economic downturn was aggravated by the Covid-19 pandemic [b]hitting the country's vital tourism industry hard.

Re: Cubans are starving
The communist island needs about 3,300 US tons of wheat every month for bread, but in July and August it was able to acquire a third of that, and in September only 600 tons, according to official data.
Last week, a ship laden with wheat found itself docked at harbor unable to unload, with the government saying it did not have the "financing" to pay for the cargo.
US? tons?? We are sending wheat to Cuba and making them pay for it? Well that is good and bad i guess. But then...where is the help from other communist countries? china? russia? noko? Venezuela? Don't they care about their fellow comrades?
