Le Tour de France

Has started.
The course does not look so good this year, they do not finish in Paris due to the stupid olympics.
Can't see any alpine stages. :-(

They do go around one area we were at, so will watch that.

This stage is going well

A breakaway group had formed, no danger to the peloton.
Then there was a fall in the peloton, so the peloton slowed for those guys to rejoin their teams.
The breakaway group furthered their lead

This has turned into a great stage

Could be a good stage tonight. Starts very soon.

They are going up a 2600 m summit, over 23 kms of solid climbing.
The altitude will affect them, climbing for 50 minutes,

Very sad news, Norwegian rider Andre Drege has died after a high speed crash in the Tour this year.

The Col de Tourmalet is on tonight.

We have 2 mountain nights. These are a spectacle, Mountain stages are often where the Tour is won or lost.
