WHAT a great idea!!!
And when these low income families find out they cannot afford the charging, maintenance and repair they can sell their homes or get out of their rental and move into their incapacitated EV.

If they were smart, they would sell those EVs for cash. I'm sure there's a lot of shitlibs in WA who would be dumb enough to want one.

46 million for 9000 'eligible' poeple and they have to give up their fossil fuel car. Which in the long run will mean..no vacation, limited range of driving, and a large portion of their income will have to be dedicated to upkeep of the EV.
The batteries in those EVs last 5 to 8 years. maybe 5 good years and 2 to 3 sub par years before a replacement is needed. These batteries weight near 1000 pounds each and then there is the problem with what to do with these 'dead' batteries.
Now...this is gov't subsidizing and gov't doesn't do anything for anybody unless there is somekind of benefit to gov.t...like Taxes.

What one doesn't work for, one doesn't appreciate.
We'll see them abandoned all across the 150-mile range of wherever they're distributed. And quickly. You can't charge those things in the ghetto. You plug them in overnight, some bruddah-man gonna steal your cord.
And you gotta have a CRED DIT CARD to use a pay charger. And you have to know how to tease the thing into TAKING the charge. A lot of time it involves reconnecting repeatedly.
It also involves time. And no, Tyrone, you can't be drinkin no 8-Ball while charging your Obamacar.
I no longer care. We're so far past insane...let's just print up moar money, for moar insanity, until this crazy-train comes completely off the track.

Because of the weight, it'll need tires much faster, also. This has been noticed in real-world use.
Tyrone ain't never bought tires before that weren't zero-profile dubs. An he bought THEM from Freddie the Fence.
Maybe it won't matter. That Obamacar won't last 15,000 miles.
