1/2 time shows at Sports events

Those 1/2 time shows at sports event do not appeal to me.
It seems weird and detracts from the Sports event (or tries to).
Last time I went to a game there was a dreadful 'cheering/club song' noise coming from the PA system.
It was distorted and grating. I want no fake 'excitement' thrown at me. Hence I have not been again.
