China Advised to Bomb Australia
A leading voice in Communist China has advised Beijing to bomb Australia and bring “disaster” should Canberra support US military action.
The editor of a Chinese newspaper considered to be a mouthpiece of the Communist dictatorship has said Beijing should consider “long range strikes” directed at Australia.
Editor-in-chief of the stridently pro-Communist Global Times newspaper, Hu Xijin, made the extraordinary comments in an editorial advising Beijing how it should react should Australia join the US in protecting democratic Taiwan from invasion.
“Australia must know what disasters it would cause to their country,” he said in the tub-thumping piece published late on Friday.
Beijing has long insisted Taiwan must unite with the People’s Republic, either by choice or force. It has become a rallying cry for Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
That’s despite Taiwan never having been under communist rule. The island was where the then-Chinese government fled to in 1949 when the Communists took control on the mainland.
It is now a democratic nation with many inhabitants seeing themselves as Taiwanese rather than Chinese.
The US is not obligated to defend Taiwan, although its policy of “strategic ambiguity” over Taiwan means it reserves the right to do so. If the US did intervene, it’s highly likely Australia would be called on to help in some way.
In recent months, China has ratcheted up the tension and its air force has made repeated forays into Taiwan’s air defence zone.
On Anzac Day Canberra’s chief national security adviser Mike Pezzullo told staff that the “drums of war” were getting louder. That was widely interpreted as referring to China.
Writing in the Global Times, Mr Hu said that Australian “hawks” were “hyping or hinting” that Australia would help the US should a military conflict occur in the Taiwan Straits.
“I suggest China make a plan to impose retaliatory punishment against Australia once it militarily interferes in the cross-Straits situation,” he said.
“The plan should include long-range strikes on the military facilities and relevant key facilities on Australian soil if it really sends its troops to China’s offshore areas and combats against the People’s Liberation Army.”
Any assistance to the US in Taiwan would be “irresponsible,” he added.
“China loves peace and will not take the initiative to pick a fight with faraway Australia, but Australian hawks must be clear-minded.
“If they are bold enough to co-ordinate with the US to militarily interfere in the Taiwan question and send troops to the Taiwan Straits to wage war with the PLA, they must know what disasters they would cause to their country.”
The Global Times’ editorials are not necessarily echoed by the Communist leadership but they would be unlikely to be published without Beijing’s blessing.

What a much better world we'd have without China and the ME.

China lashes out at Australia for joining military exercise with Japan, France and US.
China has described an Aussie move as “insignificant” while also saying we’ll be the “first to be hit” if we continue to interfere.
Great power competition? Or a schoolyard tiff? Beijing has lashed out at Australia for joining its allies in war games off Japan, threatening “its forces will be among the first to be hit”.
“Australia must not think it can hide from China if it provokes,” Song Zhongping, a Communist Party military commentator, told the Global Times.
Australia last week joined Japan, the United States and France in what has been described as their “first ever” joint military exercise.
Named joint training exercise Jeanne d’Arc 21 (ARC21 for short), the Royal Australian Navy frigate HMAS Parramatta joined French, Japanese and US warships in practising an amphibious assault, urban warfare and anti-aircraft defence between May 11 and 17.
Beijing declared the exercise to be so “insignificant” it didn’t need to react.

Rattling their teeny tiny little sabres again Lol. Eventually China's arrogance will be what ends them.

Why would they need it from Australia? China itself is the biggest producer.....
"China
China is by far the largest producer, consumer, and importer of Iron ore. In 2015 it produced 1.3 billion tons of iron ore equivalents to 44% of the world’s output. In 2014, China produced 1.5 billion tons of crude ore extracted mainly in Hebei and Liaoning provinces of mainland China. Other regions include Shanxi, Beijing, and parts of Inner Mongolia.
Australia
Australia comes as the second largest producer of Iron ore and has the world’s biggest deposits. The mineral is mainly in the Western Australia in the regions of Pilbara, which represents 95% of Australia’s iron ore. The region forms three of the eleven biggest mining operations in the world. In 2015, Australia produced 824 million tons of iron ore and in 2014 was 774 million tons which represent more than 20% of the global output.
Brazil
Brazil is the third largest producer of iron ore producing 428 million tons in 2015 and 411 million tons in 2014. The 2015 output represents 12% of the world’s production. Brazil has the second largest deposits of iron ore in the world. The mineral is mined mainly in Minas Gerais and Para states. Carajas is the world’s biggest iron ore mine owned by Vale the Brazil’s industry giant.
India
In the past, India has been a world leader, but now the fourth largest producer. 95% of the country's iron ore come from Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, and Karnataka. The biggest deposits in the country are in Orissa state. In 2015, India produced 129 million tons which were similar to 2014 figures."

Re: China Advised to Bomb Australia
China's domestic production only makes up about 20% of its needs. It's own iron ore is very low grade, expensive to process and its mines are being depleted. The delivered cost of their domestic iron ore is generally more than the delivered cost of iron ore from Australia or elsewhere.
