Sounds like something out of Ash vs Evil Dead with Bruce Campbell.

It was damn good. I lol at the dogs dressed up to look like giant shrews. Ken Curtis directed it too. I was reading where he said it took all he had not to laugh at the dressed up dogs with fangs and the stuffed, killer shrews the used also.

And of course, there was a hot Swedish babe in it( the only woman) named Ingrid(real name) gourde or sometime like that.

Only James Best,  Ingrid, and Ingrid 's scientist dad made it off the island. The shrews attacked and ate everyone else. Then ate each other until there was only one left who died of starvation.

Two Coonasses would have solved that problem and each would be a millionaire today. Even after filling a large chest freezer each, full of tens of thousands of legs and a smaller freezer with backs and front legs .

Bout a months supply.

About ten years ago, I could go to the store and buy a 5 pound box of imported(India or china) frog legs for about $16 when I ran out of Louisiana, fresh caught legs. By me! Not bayou. Lol.
They were pretty good size and not as tasty , but still good fried.

I mean, I know folks who've never eaten frog legs have no idea how good and tasty they are. Great White meat. Can't eat enough! Lol.

These local independent supermarkets and smaller seafood outfits closed down one by one after the arrival of the Great Satan/Evil Arkansas-Chinese Empire(Wal-Mart) ..

I shop at an independent on the east bank of the Mississippi River. At least I used to before high gasoline prices. I live on the west bank. It's about 22 miles one way. So any savings I benefit from by buying sale items is negated by the cost of fuel to get there. So I seldom go there these days.

They used to have frozen frog legs there But they quit handling them because that's Anglo country and they don't eat frog legs like Coonasses do. Lol

It's amazing how a natural boundary like the Mississippi River can differentiate between people. Just about 10 miles as the crow flies.

Those parishes(counties) east of the river are known as The Florida Parishes. Because they were once part of the western panhandle florida territory which extended all the way through Alabama and Mississippi into Louisiana and stopped at the Mississippi river.

Hence they were not part of the Louisiana Purchase, and little back and forth between French and Spanish culture.

Now this market did have some already breaded frog legs for a hefty price. But I just don't trust things like that. I like to bread and season them myself.

I asked the owner to get some unbreaded legs. Never saw any for months. Check the freezer every week.

Last time I went, which was about 3 months ago or more, I saw some!

2lbs/$22! Ain't no way that's happening!
