I like Kristi Noem very much.  She's tough, she's smart and she has experience as governor.  I see Mike Pompeo's name being tossed around too and he has more experience with foreign policy (a definite plus) but two white men running will trigger a lot of people (who only care about appearances) into having conniptions.  Kristi Noem isn't a person of color but she ticks one of those dreaded boxes by being female.
