We are looking for a new security software package.
We had trend micro but they put the price up, wanted $200 pa as we had an autorenew set up. I cancelled it .
Now on their site it is $55 pa or a free bitdefender .
Any suggestions?

Thanks, I got Bitdefender. $75 for 5 devices, 1 year. They want $150 for next year.
Trend Micro was $200

I have given up on it.

I don't know if SC is looking for a business security suite, or if it's for personal use...but after all the hacks into Apple, Equifax, various businesses...and now, 23AndMe...I've come to the conclusion, that, first, security suites are probably selling, or their employees are selling, access to backdoors.

Second, it's absolutely hopeless for a non-coder to buy a technical tool (program suite) that the buyer cannot understand, and hope that it works as promised. Endorsements can be faked, or bought. The product can be changed without notice, between the time of PCWorld reviews, and time of sale.

My tools are simple: First, Linux. Second, sensitive stuff, gets a separate browser. Third, a hardware firewall router.

Fourth, I bank minimally online. NO PHONE BUYING OR BANKING. When doing EFTs, I do NOT allow vendor websites to take money out of my accounts - I insist on this. When my landlord insisted on that way, that way only, I opened a separate account at a different bank for just that transfer. In the end, I had to move anyway.

I have a separate computer to use for banking.. Turned off and unplugged when not paying bills, or other.

In terms of protecting the integrity of data I have on computers...I don't have it on computers. I have it on external hard-drives. When not in use they're disconnected and powered off. A large flash drive would do the same today, except that my experiences with large flash drives - granted, many years ago - was that they don't hold up well.

FWIW. I can't beat them at their game, so I don't much play.
