This is one of my most played CDs . Gaye died a tragic death by the hands of his father . This tune is about the war and its toll and its probably why it hits me . As a kid I had a job with Western Union and I didn't realize it at the time but the way the parents were notified of their kids death in Nam was by a simple telegram ( no military figures were used to inform ) and I was the messenger in those black tenements in the Bronx that knocked on the door . It sucked .
