Massive explosion of EV car batteries in Uzbekistan airport

A BOY of 15 has been killed in a giant explosion feared to have been triggered by detonating electric car batteries.
At least 163 were also injured following the huge blast in a customs warehouse near Tashkent Airport in Uzbekistan in the early hours, which was felt up to 20 miles away.

Yeah.
Coming to a garage near you. They're pretty spectacular when they light off.
Our little city, pressured by our major state university, has a handful of battery buses...proudly proclaimed on signs outside, ZERO POLLUTION! A lie, anyone who knows how electricity is generated, knows.
Nonetheless, today's koledge kidlets, with their Safe Spaces and Speech Codes, just love this lie. So all the buses that run by or through the campus, are ZERO POLLUTION!
We haven't had one burn yet. But the bus garage is relatively new - yes, our growth to where we need buses, is relatively new - and when one of those things go off, it's going to be epic.
The bus garage is right next to the Montana Rail Link yard, too. And MRL has some interesting shipments - like the Gas Train.
Yup, a unit train of nothing but gasoline in tanks - because the tribal government of the Flathead Indian Reservation won't allow ConocoPhillips to build a pipeline a relatively short way, from the terminus here to a tank farm near Paradise, Montana.
So far, no gas train has been lit off. And in fact with lockdowns and depressed tourism, the trains have been short. But if the bus garage blows up...the pipeline head and local tank farm are on the other side of the rail yard, and those tanks, sometimes empty (those are filled with fumes and blow up even better) are in proximity.

They aren't saying what caused the explosion or if it was intentional. I hope terrorists don't learn how to recreate this explosion.

They will just go round planting batteries at all the gas stations, easy peesy

Not outside the possibility that a car battery could have exploded, But it would have needed a lot of fuel available to make that sort of explosion

That is a fair point.
Li-I batteries burn incredibly fast - but they don't explode like a chamber of fumes. They have to be ignited and the combustion spread, and while that doesn't take long, it's not instantaneous.
So, as usual...we're being fed a Narrative. Managed Nooze.

They can explode or burn very aggressively, its relative to the size of the battery, I would think that even if it happened at a gas station it would be unlikely it would blow the place up, But i certainly wouldn't've wanted to be parked up there when it happened , These things tend to happen in third world places where there are a lot of fuels above ground
